Strand Nursing’s discreet Personal Care service is designed to support you with your day-to-day living, as well as providing you with the encouragement and emotional support that you may need to remain living independently. When faced with illness or immobility, it can be a struggle to carry out everyday activities that you may have once performed with ease.

Our service is built around your individual requirements and can include help with your morning and evening routines, bathing, dressing, continence care, medication prompts and meal preparation. Maintaining your dignity is of paramount importance to us, which is why our Strand Nursing carers will ensure you always feel comfortable and support you with your wishes at all times. We understand that every one of our clients is unique and will have different preferences regarding the level of support that they would like. Our carers will encourage you to make your own choices about your daily needs, these could include daily needs such as: bathing, dressing, continence, meal preparation and medication assistance.

Overnight Care

Overnight care will involve a member of Strand Nursing staying in your home at night to support with health and care needs. Night time carers will support you with your established bedtime and morning routine, ensuring that you are safe and comfortable in bed. They will assist with personal care, medication and clinical tasks. For some clients with conditions such as dementia or pain overnight, we offer a waking night care service where the carer will stay awake during the night.

Respite Care

RESPITE CARE SERVICE EXPLAINED

Strand Nursing care staff can step in to support you or your family where temporary care may be required, or for regular planned Respite Care, to give family members a break from ongoing care. Respite Care can be provided by a nurse, healthcare assistant or support worker as you prefer, or as relevant to the care required.

Nursing Care

NURSING CARE SERVICE EXPLAINED

All our care services can be carried out by a registered nurse. We will recommend nursing care where clinical tasks are needed, you can also enquire about nursing care if you or your family member would specifically like your care to be delivered by a nurse. We employ registered nurses with extensive experience. Some procedures require nurse interventions such as the administration of complex medication and clinical oversight. Contact our team and we can talk you through the options for specific nursing care and all our other services.

End of Life Care

END OF LIFE CARE SERVICE EXPLAINED

Strand Nursing’s end of life care is for clients and their families at this sensitive time.

We are here to focus on what is important to you at this difficult time. We promote and provide skills and compassionate palliative care of the highest quality.

End of life Care provides the support that is needed towards the end of someone’s life, allowing them to pass in the most peaceful and comfortable way. While some people spend their final days in a hospital, hospice or nursing home, end of life care at home has become a preferred option for those who wish to spend their last moments within their own home and surrounded by their loved ones.

Fully-managed end of life care lets you or a family member stay at home, surrounded by loved ones and special comforts.

All the necessary care, medication and support with clinical tasks can be provided by a healthcare assistant or qualified nurse who will liaise discreetly with other professionals involved with the care plan, such as hospices, consultants or GPs.

We can arrange palliative care swiftly and sensitively and also assist with the transition of the client from hospital to home.
